Gorgeous weather for Day 1of the 8th Annual PV WORKSHOP. This was my quick DEMO. Don't get seasick. I will fix it up later. The artists are amazing. Life is good!

LISA'S INSPIRATION

I am painting over old paintings hanging around in my closet. I loved LISA DARIA KENNEDY's post yesterday. Her green vase inspired me.

The pictures of the blizzard in the Northeast  look beautiful. I hope everyone has power.

The community of Puerto Vallarta is diverse and rich. Art, healing spirt,whales frolicking in the 50 mile wide bay, the gongs and bells from the Cathedral every 15 minutes, the mountains and rivers, the kindness of people, the slowed down pace of living....how to put it all on a tiny canvas!

yellow light, ochre, ultramarine blue, thalo blue, cad red light and magenta.

CATHEDRAL

People call it the Cathedral but it is really a church. I don't know what the requirements are of being a Cathedral. I live a couple of blocks up from the church.The bells drive some people crazy. I love them. It makes me take a nice deep breath and appreciate the beauty all around me.

Here I am in Mexico. I am taking on a "30 paintings in 30 days" Challenge put out there by Leslie Saeta. It is suggested that we have a theme. I have decided to document my days in Mexico, unless I feel like doing something else. Just paint...that is the kickstart I need now.

The GJWP challenge was to paint like Van Gogh. I struggled with this neat idea and some of the paintings are very, very good. Mine seems to look like a Railsback.

I went to NYC with fellow blogger Pam Copeman and had the pleasure of seeing MATISSE at the Metropolitan Museum. I also got to meet my nephew's pup
