I am not loving this painting but I have been working on this piece of canvas for too long. So when the brushes said' Stop the madness'...I did.

North River Arts Festival Show is incredible. The quality of work gets better and better every year. The show is exhibited for a week...not to be missed.

These are the 3 paintings (40x40) of mine exhibited and the Abstract got the award.

Pardon the poor photography. I painted this watercolor which hangs in my kitchen in 1999 and it exhibited in the NORTH RIVER ARTS FESTIVAL.

Mark Malinowski holds the painting CHILD HEART. His partner Randy Pipkin asked him to buy it as a going away gift to Mark. Randy died last month after a long struggle with ALS. This painting was inspired by my 4 year old friend Liz Tomlin in Mexico and the energy of the painting was carried to Randy seeing it online, a last ray of joy on his death bed. The MLS walk in Worcester is this coming Saturday. Donations can be made here.

Transitions are hard. I am back at North Street Studio. I call the first paintings when you have been out of practice for a while "crepes". The first ones might be tough to cook to perfection..so you have got to be prepared for a few rough ones until you get the temperature just right. To add to the crepe situation the heat is not working in my Studio...Back to good old New England!

Yesterday was my last Class/Workshop here in Mexico this winter. Thanks to all of the beautiful, inspiring painters that I have painted with. The weather has been perfect every day. Is that fair?

The first exercise we formed our composition with 3 lines, lay in 4-5 Shapes, dark and light values. No details. We painted this in 15-20 minutes

My style of painting has turned into my style of dress.....very carefully and selectively simple and  messed up..the way I like it. Painting is a metaphor for our lives.

I am happy to have been a participant in the 30 day challenge and am REALLY happy to have it end! OY!It has been a great motivator and I am itching to take the same time to paint BIGGER and in a more relaxed fashion. I am going to do one or two more river scenes as possibilities for the RIVERFEST poster. Actually...I might re work this one to be  more interesting. Stay tuned.
