I don't post much so thought I would show this piece I am working on. More next time
I saw a terrific DEMO at The Rowley Gallery last Saturday. Carole Rabe is a teacher at Mass Art and a beautiful, confident painter of Interiors. She uses a limited palette and only paints on location using varied, rich greys and tans to build her painting.
I am so proud to be one of the creative Girls Just Wanna Paint. The Show at Thayer Academy in Braintree MA is up until Dec 18. It is really beautiful. We each have 7 monthly challenges and 3 larger pieces displayed.
I have not been very productive in the Studio. However I have finally made it to Broadway !!!!!! Well..off off spin from... Off Broadway…...I was discovered online! A set designer for the play by Donald Margulies 'Dinner with Friends' was looking for a painting to use on the set for Act 2 . They will use this scene! The play is being produced by the Roundabout theater Company at the Laura Pels Theater from Jan through April in NYC. FUN!
GJWP is having a show at Thayer Academy from November 18-December 18. I love being a member of this group of painters.
Sally Dean is one of the group. This woman is a true artist in every sense of the word. She can work in any medium. This incredible tile mosaic is in an exhibition at the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton MA. Check out her necklace...She made it! See what I mean?
I woke up smiling on my last day in Provincetown with visions of color, shapes, values swirling around my brain. This has been a wonderful experience and hard to leave. I took a plein air oil class with Mary Giammarino, fellow Rowley Gallery artist yesterday. We painted with putty knives.
I also attended Stephanie Roberts Camello's Opening at the School House Gallery last night. Love her work.
When NANCY HARTLEY shows where she is going with her work...I listen up! She took JENNY NELSON'S workshop a couple of weeks ago in CA and I was impressed. I also noticed that Jenny was teaching a workshop right here in Provincetown at The Provincetown Art Museum. 12 hours later, I too was doing these different exercises...Stay tuned.
